Pastor David Leineke began his ministry at Pigeon First on July 1, 2022, and is a licensed Local Pastor in the UMC Michigan Conference. His theological training took place at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C., and he is half-way through his course of study. During his ministry, he has served in rural and urban communities and has enjoyed both settings.
Pastor David and Robin have six adult children and nine grandchildren, aged 2-12 years old. They have known each other since 1972, and on August 28th, they will begin their 10th year of marriage. Robin is a real-estate manager who has worked for Real Estate One for 23 years.
In April of 2021, Robin underwent open heart surgery. During her recovery in I.C.U., she suffered a massive stroke. Initially, they were told that she probably would never walk or speak again. Through many prayers, the presence of God, the Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Center, and Robin’s determination, she has proved this not to be true. They both are very excited to become a part of the Pigeon community and of First United Methodist Church.
